Okay, so today we're going to be talking about mastering the law of detachment to let go stop holding on so much and allow the things that you desire to magnetically flow into your life.
Sara:Hello, welcome back to Mindfully Moody. I'm Sarah. I'm joined with my best friend and my co-host, hannah, and we are back with another episode of us sharing what is on our hearts, our truths, so that we can help you be empowered, reach your truest potential and just feel good wherever you are in your journey right now and in your life. We are here with you and we support you. Before we jump into the episode, I want to share some exciting announcements, which we have been talking about this in the past few episodes, but I want to in 30 days.

So go check that out and, without further ado, let's get into the episode. Let's talk about the law of detachment and how it has supported us in our journeys. This is something that has been really on my mind a lot lately because of manifestation and how attached we get to our manifestations, and I just posted a video on TikTok when it was Lionsgate, about this topic and a lot of people resonated with it, and I think that this is something that a lot of people are doing wrong when it comes to manifestation and why they're not seeing their results come to fruition.
Hannah:Yeah, I'm excited to talk about this topic because I personally am a manifesting queen. I am such a goal-oriented queen, right. And when you are so focused on manifestation and goal setting, you do become super attached to the outcome. Right, you're building your life, you're transforming your beliefs, you're tapping your energy to align to the things that you want right, which pretty much makes you obsessed with your desires and bringing them to life. Right. But if we become too attached to those outcomes, right, to those goals, that could be something getting in our way from actually bringing those things to life. So I know for me, I've spent hours online being like how to master the law of detachment what is detachment? Why is detachment important? So I feel like we should talk about the law of detachment and why it is important for disconnecting in order to bring that thing in.
Sara:Yeah, absolutely. I think this. This is a really interesting thing that may be triggering to people. It's it's funny.
Sara:I was just watching, before we get into that. I was just watching a big manifesting creator, slash influencer content this morning and she was just talking about how all of her manifestation focus and techniques and all of these things that she did a few years ago in her life keep showing up and you know, she's seeing the fruits of her manifestation labors. Essentially and it was obviously I knew that we were going to talk about this topic and it brought up like curiosity to me of this seems like someone who was super attached to her, her manifestations, you know, like did manifestations every day, energy work every single day, and I think this is why there's been such a trend of you have to become super obsessed and embodied and get into this like I am going to control the outcome of my life, no matter what, right, because I'm going to put so much energy into these manifestations that they have to come true. And if they don't come true, then it must have been because I like did something wrong in the manifesting. So okay, so the law of detachment says that we must relinquish our attachment to something in order to acquire it. So this doesn't mean that we have to give up the desire, the intention to receive something, to create something, but what it means is that we give up our control, our attachment to the outcome of the manifestation.
Sara:And when you hear this, I think a lot of people can understand okay, yeah, that makes sense, right?
Sara:It doesn't mean, okay, let's say that your manifestation is that you want to create your dream business, whatever that business is, and now to detach from it. You need to step away from the idea of creating your dream business. No, it doesn't mean that you have to go from A to Z, because that really doesn't make sense, right? But it means that you are releasing the need to over control that outcome of I need to do X, y and Z things every single day, and if I don't do these things, it's never going to happen. And it's allowing yourself to surrender and trust the universe to bring in the thing that you desire. So that's the basic of what it means. But it really, to me, is a deep connection to the universe, to God, to source, to trust that the higher consciousness, your higher consciousness, your higher self, is going to deliver you the things that are meant for you and the things that you desire, without the need to step in and over control it every single day.
Hannah:Yeah, that's good, that's good stuff, I feel like, for me.
Hannah:I think that sometimes I think I have the steps to get to the place that I want to go right, whether that be the successful business thriving, making thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars a month, right, or if that's that loving, committed relationship that I so deeply desire, or if it's me hitting my body goals that you know, hitting this number on the scale that I want to reach, like these are things that I really, really desire and it's like I feel like I have the steps that I need to take to get there and I'm taking those steps.
Hannah:And when I take those steps and I become so attached to those steps and the outcome isn't happening that I want, that is the sign for me of saying, okay, let go. How can I back up, detach from the actual end outcome and just focus on loving the journey right, not putting all of this value into? If I get this, then I feel valuable, then I feel loved, then I feel enough. How can I just love the process, be intuitively guided in the process of getting those things, while not focusing all my value on actually getting that thing, which is very, very hard to do right and I feel like I love this idea of like. It's about the journey, not the destination. Detach from the destination, enjoy the journey that it takes to get there and it'll all work out.
Sara:Yeah, I think one of the things that has been really challenging me about manifestation lately is that it pulls me out of the present moment.
Sara:Yes, yes, it yes basically puts me into the thought pattern that what I have right now isn't enough.
Sara:So what I I need to have this amount of money in my bank account or this amount of success in my career, or this amount of connection to God and the universe, and be doing X, y and Z things and all of these things that we put into our manifestations.
Sara:It pulls us out sometimes of the present moment because we are so attached and all we have is the present moment, which this has been a major, major major theme of my life over the last year and focus of the now, the present, and this is why we need to talk about this and people need to hear this, because this version of you that you desire to be right, this version of you in the future, this version of you that has x, y and z things that you feel so attached to, and if you don't get that, you're going to feel like a failure. What about the version of you today that is doing x, y and Z things in your life right now and achieving all of the things in your life that you have right now, and gaining all the things in your life that you have right now. What about that version of you? So that's another thing that has been really sticking out into my mind about this topic as well.
Hannah:Yeah, I'm thinking about like, like you know, when someone says like, oh, I'm getting attached, like that sounds like maybe in a relationship like attachment isn't necessarily a good thing, because when you're saying like, oh, I'm so attached to this person, you're almost like saying like I need this person in order to feel happy about myself, like I am not going to be okay without this thing. And I think that's why it's important to detach from the bigger things that we want in life, because we're saying that without that thing we're not gonna be whole. Without that thing we aren't enough, right? And I love how you're bringing it back in the present moment.
Hannah:Oh, my gosh, I've been feeling that so much lately of being in that future prediction, sitting in the past and mourning past feelings and past emotions. And it's like just being aware of that and saying, no, I am choosing to drop into the present moment. That brings gratitude and appreciation to all the things that you have. We can live in the future, we can live in the past, but all we literally have right now is the present moment and we can't predict what's going to happen in the future, what's in the past. So it's just dropping back into that present moment and appreciating all the things that you have and how far you've already came and how much progress you've made towards your goals. All the things that you have and how far you've already came and how much progress you've made towards your goals and the things that you want so powerful.
Sara:I also think that attachment if we deepen into the discussion about the idea of attachment, it is extremely ego-based. Yeah Right, Like, if you think about okay, why do we get attached to things? Why do we get attached to ideas? Why do we get attached to dreams and outcomes and individuals and all of these things? Right, Because our ego is searching for identity. Our ego is our identity and it wants to fill in all of these gaps, to say, okay, when I have all of these things, if I accumulate all of these things, then I will feel worthy. And our ego is attached to our wounds and our fears.
Sara:So, when we start to become too attached to something, become too attached to something I invite the reflection of is this coming from a place of trust? Is this coming from a place of connection to your higher self? Or is this coming from a place of wanting to accumulate things, to say that you have them because it really you know? Are you wanting to like why? Why? If you break some of these things down, it's like why do we want to weigh a certain weight? Why do we want to have a certain career? Why do we right you? I mean, those things are very opposite, but that was just sad a little bit. So, like, why do we want to have these various things that we manifest? Why do we want to manifest a partner? Or there are all different reasons, but the attachment to those things can actually get in the way of attracting those things.
Hannah:That rhymed. That was good. I think it's like you know people want the feeling. As you're saying that, right, people don't necessarily, you know, want to have the successful business, to have all the money in the world. They want feelings, they want freedom, they want abundance, they want safety. You know people, you know being in a relationship. People want partnership, like love. They want these feelings. They don't really it's not like they need that person there. They want these feelings.
Hannah:And so I think, when people are thinking about detaching from things that they want right, letting go of control, it's like bringing back, like okay, what do you think that thing that you want is going to bring you right? And how can you already tap in to those feelings right now and see how much of those feelings and emotions already exist in the present moment? Right, like I just looked at my dog laying on the floor as he like sat down and like he curled up and I was like that just brought so much love to my heart, little Chi Chi Um. It's like I want to feel abundance, I want financial abundance right in my business. How can I already look around and see how financially abundant I am? Oh, my gosh, I'm in a two thousand dollar apartment. Right, I'm staring at a fifteen hundred dollar laptop, this microphone. It's like there's just abundant financial abundance every single place I look. So I just think that there's such an opportunity to move the like, move the light onto something else, like if we're constantly flashing our light on that goal, right. If we're constantly like only looking at that and we're only going to be happy once we get that, that is just setting yourself up for success. Flash the light on the things that you already have in your life that are giving you that same feeling, that same reflection in your life today, right?
Hannah:So if you want to, you know, be in a loving, committed relationship because you want to feel loved, you want to feel appreciated, you want to feel supported, how can you flash that into your life right now and see, okay, where are all the places that I feel supported? And create a list Like, oh my gosh, I have a best friend here who I can call at any time and get support from. I have myself. I can literally like look at myself in the mirror and tell myself how much I love and appreciate myself. I'm here to support myself.
Hannah:I have family, right. So it's like always changing your perspective and it's like what you focus on grows stronger, right? So if you're looking at something that you want and seeing all this lack and seeing all the reasons why it's not working out and you haven't gotten it yet, that's what's going to become bigger. So focus on the things that you want to expand right, like all of the amazing things that are already in your life that are going to contribute to you on that path to getting all the things that you desire.
Sara:I love that, I love that and I think there's just so much to take away from what you just said of how we can recognize what we already have in our lives in the present moment and all of these things. I also feel like to shift back to the law of detachment. The focus of I need to stay attached to my manifestations and I need to stay attached to these outcomes and I need to control these outcomes is inherently very masculine. It's a very masculine energy that, as women, we get pushed into because this is what society tells us right. Like, oh, you can never like look away from a goal or a dream, or and really the law of detachment is not saying look away, but we have this like go, go, go, go, go, get it now, get it now, get it now. Like never stop focus, relentless pursuit of every single thing that we desire and that has its strengths. But it is a very masculine formula of how to attract things in your life, how to create things in your life, and I think what the law of detachment can teach us is that you don't have to look away from your goal or your intention, but you can let the way that you get to that goal or intention be fluid. You can let the universe deliver the message, the requirements, whatever the journey, the shifts, the evolve, the flow like, whatever happens, you are allowing the universe to just bring that to you.
Sara:So you know, if you have something, it takes me back to my earlier life, our earlier lives of being like okay, I want to get this goal and I'm going to break it down by all of these super, super specific steps so that I can get to this overall goal and with the law of detachment, it would be okay. Well, I have this goal and I have some ideas on how I would get to this goal, but I'm going to surrender and let that be fluid and change, because who I am today may not be who I am in a week from now or from a month from now, and I may gain more information, I may have shifts energetically along the way that may invite different possibilities into my life. So it's really interesting and I think it's a really big challenge because it's stepping into uncertainty. It's stepping into more of that feminine energy of flow and allowing and receiving versus the attachment masculine energy, and we struggle to do that. I struggle to do that.
Hannah:Yeah, Me too. It's hard, it's challenging, Especially when you want something so bad and you're unhappy that you don't have it yet. It's so hard to shift your mindset and just release. It can be really, really, really challenging, but know that in that release there's peace. Thank you guys for listening to this episode. We love you.
